Dr. Klein is the author of Trapped in the Family Business: A Practical Guide to Uncovering and Managing this Hidden Dilemma. He specializes in providing services for those working in, or entering into a family business. His two presentations will share insights from his research and work.
Our morning session begins at 8 am (registration at 7:30 am) and ends at 9:30 am. It is created for senior business owners who are contemplating retirement and/or selling their business(es). Dr. Klein will discuss challenges such as letting go, relevance post transition, ensuring competent successors and more.
The afternoon session starts at 5:30 pm (registration at 5 pm) and finishes at 7 pm. It is followed by a reception and open bar. The afternoon session is targeted for parents, family business owners and/or those who are a Generation Xer or Millennial working in a family business. Michael will address how to bring family members into a business in a thoughtful manner. He will also address the children of business owners who may feel “trapped” in the family business and who are looking for ways to have a conversation with the senior generation to help resolve their feelings in a mutually positive manner.
Pre-registration tickets (by May 2) for either session are $25 per person. General Admission is $50 per person. The first 25 people to register will receive a complimentary copy of Trapped in the Family Business by Michael Klein, PsyD.
